My name is Lisanne Lombardo. I'm a Citizen of the United States and reside in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. I have been employed in the field of mergers and acquisitions for an international consulting firm for the last 16 years. Previously, I worked in the same company in corporate real estate for 5 years.

I started writing as a hobby and was two books into an Urban Fantasy series when Trump was elected. I paused that writing to understand what was happening to my country. After reading voraciously on current affairs, I came to realize our democracy was in peril.

I am writing this blog in my capacity as a private citizen, and the views reflected here do not reflect my employer. They are solely my own.

My goal is to resist Trump and strengthen democracy. Please note that when I say "resist Trump," I mean him and all elements of corruption in our current government. I resist authoritarianism. I resist autocracy. I resist demagoguery. I resist the extreme polarization of our politics by gerry-mandering, voter suppression, big money special interest groups, and election fraud.

I resist any subversion of our democracy, regardless of party. I often speak up to my own party when I see them subverting democracy. We all must do this.

I believe we are in extraordinary times and there is massive corruption on the right. I hope you will all #VoteBlue and work with me to clean up our elections. The goal is to get to a point where democracy works again and we need have no fear regardless of who we vote for.

I am pro-democracy. I am for The People.

Once our democracy is strengthened, it will work better for all The People, regardless of party.

In a democracy you don't get everything you want. However, most of the people get most of what they want. We make choices together. That is far better than an autocracy or oligarchy where only one person or just a few get what they want.

Trump has the instincts of an autocrat, and we are operating as an oligarchy right now. That must end.
